In 2023, the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) established the Ukraine Humanitarian Response team to document and communicate the humanitarian efforts in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The project spanned a year, during which I served as a content producer. My responsibilities included contributing to ideation, pitching and developing briefs, collaborating with external stakeholders (including charities such as Save the Children), as well as scripting and editing content.
Throughout the 12-month period, I produced over 20 videos, each tailored with variations for different social media platforms. The engagement of these videos was closely monitored by the communications teams, and the content was adjusted based on what was deemed most effective.
Motion Graphics
In addition, I worked closely with the DEC communications department and Ogilvy to develop a platform-wide motion graphics pack. The graphics were designed using insights from best-practice analytics and incorporated assets from the UN’s icon database.
All elements were created to be adaptable, allowing them to be easily reused and customised across different campaigns. The final deliverables included an easy-to-use essential graphics package for use in Adobe Premiere, as well as sticker assets for use across social media platforms.
