This film was a key element of an advocacy campaign focused on improving access to vaccines by pushing for the release of patents on critical processes. It premiered at the United Nations headquarters in New York in September 2023 and was subsequently shown at the World Health Organization in Geneva in 2024.
I collaborated with a team in Kenya and international NGO stakeholders to produce a film that explores the impact of the pandemic on women and girls in Kenya. In this role, I worked closely with Health Poverty Action, leading the development process to ensure that diverse voices were authentically represented and that the messaging was clear and impactful.
Whilst in Kenya I co-managed a team of nine, prioritising ethical considerations, particularly around informed consent. This included filming in Mathare, an informal settlement, where it was essential to engage with the local community and work alongside a community leader and human rights worker to ensure a respectful and non-extractive approach.
